‘Bad Trip’ makes its actors the butt for the joke rather than the civilians, and it is funnier for this

“Bad Trip” — the feature-length variation of Eric André’s weirdly aggressive but wonderful Adult Swim show, “The Eric Andre Show,” each of that are directed by Kitao Sakurai — is great. It features the sorts of stunts the thing is within the show however with a very nearly apologetic advantage and less usually at the expense of the civilians terrorized by their elaborate traps. The jokes are alternatively mostly at the cost of the actors; they’re also larger but nonetheless screamingly funny.

The plot associated with the film — if you care, that you shouldn’t — goes like this: A couple of dead-enders, Chris (André) and Bud (Lil Rel Howery) decide to take a beloved red Crown Victoria from Bud’s incarcerated sis, Trina (Tiffany Haddish), and pursue Chris’ senior school crush, Maria (Michaela Conlin), to ny, where she has politely kinda-sorta invited Chris to go to her at her gallery.
